Volunteer or Donate

Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (MGVAMC) depends on the goodwill of our benefactors and volunteers who wish to give something back to America's heroes.

Volunteer

Volunteers actively support many important functions throughout the Medical Center that help make our Veterans visits more enjoyable. Volunteer's talents and experience are closely matched with one of our many assignments.

MGVAMC has partnered with the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) to provide transportation service for Veterans with no other means of transport to the Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center (VAMC) for their medical appointments. The DAV Volunteer Transportation Service is always in need of volunteer drivers.

Life of a DAV Driver

We will be happy to discuss how you can help us in our mission to provide comfort and care to America's Veterans.

Volunteer Eligibility: Minimum age is 16. Fingerprints and a background investigation are required for all volunteers age 18 and older. Additionally, a TB test is required, and all volunteers must also complete a one-time Volunteer Orientation.

If you are interested in a clinical shadowing or internship program, please contact our education department at (509) 434-7053 to see if your need can be met.

Note: When registering to be a Volunteer, we require that you make a commitment to volunteer 100 hours the first year.

Donate

Monetary donations are used for the comfort and welfare of our Veteran patients.

The attached document illustrates the different ways that donated funds are used to support or nations heroes.

Item donations boasts the spirits of our patients as well as help make the lives of our indigent inpatients and homeless Veterans much easier. The attached needs list illustrates the current needs of our Veteran patients.

E-Donate

Simple. Speedy. Safe. The new E-Donate service now available online allows community members who wish to give back to Veterans a quick, safe way to pledge their support. Through E-Donate, donors can select from a number of accounts at the medical center they wish to donate to. U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs administrative costs are appropriated so donors can be 100 percent certain their donations will go directly to the funds and Veteran patients they select.

Donated money at our medical center goes to Veteran patient programs, Homeless Veteran programs, Social Work services, support groups and other programs that directly help Veterans. The actual donation is made through a secure site at the Department of Treasury’s www.pay.gov.  A minimum of $5 is required for online donation and you can donate by any electronic means commonly used on the Internet today (i.e., credit card or debit card). You choose the medical center, you choose the amount, and you choose from available options how your money will support local Veterans.
