Mann-Grandstaff VA Medical Center

Social Work

Social workers help Veterans and their families to resolve emotional, social and economic problems. Help is provided in dealing with the stress of illness, providing information about the VA and community resources, and planning for the Veteran's care after discharge from inpatient care.

Social workers assist and advocate for Veterans and their families to resolve psychological, emotional, and financial stresses related to illness and disability. We are also actively involved in outreach, pre-admission and aftercare phases of VA's health care programs. Social Work Service at the VA operates closely with all inpatient and outpatient medical, psychiatric, long-term care and other specialty services.
