In March, Spokane VAMC staff assisted the dedicated full-time staff offering out-patient services at the Wenatchee VA Clinic – during an Open House for Veterans throughout the Wenatchee Valley.   We believe the event was a wonderful start to 2012… because more than 200 new and enrolled Veterans turned out to learn more about the health care services, including tele-health opportunities available through the VA in N. Central Washington.

The VA is working closely with Veteran Service Organizations based in the area, to include the VFW Post 3617; American Legion Post-10; and Vets Helping Vets – in order to reach as many Veterans as possible living in N. Central Washington – and asking them to enroll in the VA Health Care system.  Procedures or specialty needs, including surgery that are not available at the Wenatchee VA Clinic – can be pursued (with a referral) through the Spokane VA Medical Center.

Coordination is underway to celebrate the 5-year anniversary BBQ at the Wenatchee VA Clinic in August – to coincide with a Veterans Stand Down event there as well.
